Correspondence, financial papers, andcommission of Thomas Jefferson Green (1802-1863), soldier, legislator, and planter.Thomas Green organized the Texas Land Company and moved to Texas in 1836 butabandoned the colonization project to serve in the Texas army. After beingcommissioned brigadier general, he returned to the United States to raisevolunteers, money, and ammunition for the Texas cause.
